1.How did Aram happen?
I love movies which follows a raw and realistic making style. And i usually love to watch movies of Anurag kasyap sir, Vetrimaran sir, Rajeev Ravi sir, Lijo jose pellissery sir. So i wish i could do a short film like that and thus a short thread of aram appears in my mind.
After that i discussed it with the cameraman Harikrishnan Lohithadas and with its writers Sebastian Michael and Sachu. All of us was very much satisfied with the concept. And we started its scripting work.
2.How did you manage doing the fight scenes in the market. How difficult was the process?
Fight scenes when compared to the 1st day of shoot was comparatively easy.we faced many risk elements during the shooting of the fight. Our main head ache was to maintain the action continuity, It was only a short film so we don’t have junior artists to make the feel of crowd. So we made requests to the people who works in the market and also who came to the market to buy things and also some school children. And after one shot, people dispersed that was a great task to keep all the people and maintain continuity till we finish the scene. And with god’s grace and also with the hard work of our crew, we made it successful. we completed this scene in just one hour or less, This portion of the film was shot more faster than all other scenes in the film .
3. Any particular reason coming up with the title Aram?
Actually the term Aram in Malayalam refers to the sharpening of knives and weapons. In our film we also show some images relating to this title. In other words this short film Aram depicts the monarchy, cruelty, violence and struggles between human kind in the local markets in Kerala. So we thought giving such a title would be appropriate for our film.
4. The mini movie was so raw & realistic and felt like watching a feature film, any plans on doing one soon?
